Prospective Marriage Visa

If you plan to marry an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident you will be able to apply for a Prospective Spouse Visa.  You will need to show that you are engaged to be married to your Australian sponsor in Australia, and you will do this within 9 months of being granted the visa.

For your application to be successful you will need to show that you have a shared commitment to life together once you are married. Unfortunately the Department of Immigration does not recognise relationships developed “online” unless the applicant and their sponsor have physically met each other.

Once a Prospective Marriage Visa holder is married to their Australian sponsor they can apply for a Partner Visa (Provisional) and Partner Visa (Permanent).

The Prospective Marriage Visa can only be applied for if the applicant is offshore, outside Australia.  The subsequent Partner Visas application can be onshore.

AK Migration & Visa Services’ affiliated Australian MARA agents have an excellent record of success in bringing engaged couples together in Australia.
