The Visitor Visa has a number of streams, including the Tourist Stream, Business Visitor Stream and Sponsored Family Stream. Each stream has different eligibility requirements that must be met before a visa can be granted.
The Tourist Stream is for people travelling to Australia for a holiday, recreation or to visit family and friends, or for other purposes not related to business or medical treatment.
The Business Visitor Stream is for business people travelling to Australia for short business trips. This includes making a general business or employment enquiry, negotiations or participating in a conference.
The Sponsored Family Stream is for people travelling to Australia to visit their family. You must have an eligible sponsor who might be asked to provide a bond that will be held by the Immigration Department while you are in Australia.
