- Exclusive, committed, genuine, and ongoing.
- Demonstrated through joint financial aspects.
- Reflected in shared household responsibilities.

- Based on mutual commitment.
- If in a de facto relationship, the relationship must be at least 12 months old, unless:
- The relationship has been legally registered under Australian law.
- There are compelling circumstances.
- Meet health and character requirements.
Important Considerations
- The permanent visa (Subclass 801) is granted only after at least two years from the initial application, unless there are compelling circumstances.
- If the relationship ends before the permanent visa is granted, you must notify immigration authorities immediately.
